I'm so out of the habit of blogging.
I was going to start 2010 with, you know, consistency.
But then The Arctic Blast of The Century hit, and, well...the snow days threw me off.
So I think I'll just bullet point a few things and hope for more in the days ahead.
*Arkansans are not used to negative wind chills. Neither are their pets. And since we've been unable to relocate any of our felines, we've been snowbound with SIX PETS.
Could I write that again?
SIX PETS.
I think a vacuum company should guinea pig their products on my home.
Because, again?
SIX PETS.
*Over the holiday season, I determined that pecan pie may be my all time favorite dessert ever.
That's saying something.
Because I could live on dessert alone.
However.
*I'm thinking of giving up sweets.
I don't really want to.
But I think I should.
*These are my new favorite boots.
The Arctic Blast of The Century has introduced me to the joys of rubber boots.
I love them.
*Ok. I've read some good books over the past few months that I have not mentioned. I've added them to my amazon store thingy on the side.
Don't judge, but this series totally entertained me.
It is the first in a series of three. I'm not telling you what they are about.
Because the combo of special ops, NFL and Christianity is just too much.
(And to my friends in Book Club: No worries. We're not reading it. This month...)
*I also have to share my new most favorite tv show.
Castle.
The Palace watched season 1 in 2 days.
You should watch it.
*Today is my birthday. I'm closer to 40 than I am to 30.
I love that.
Happy Birthday Queen B!!! There is nothing wrong with turning 40. It's all in how young you feel!! Hope your day was filled with precious memories.

Happy 36th birthday!! (just a guess...)

you're just a young pup still, so that would make 7 animals in the house!
Happy Birthday. Funny how you dropped that at the very end, in case no one was listening, huh?
Love, Dana

Morning, nice to see you back here. Are those boots lined? I'd never survive winter up here with rubber boots, now Sorel's? yes those will do the job!

I think I know how old you are because I think we are the same age! Happy Birthday! As for the cats, I really, really need to sit down and write out the saga of Molly, the cat. You will feel much less alone in your insanity. (And I am totally running out to get that book series.)

Happy, HAPPY Birthday Queen B! And, WELCOME back!

Happy birthday, B. I hope you get some warmer weather for your big day. My birthday is Wednesday, and our high is supposed to be 35 -- a virtual heat wave.
And yes, the cold weather is hard for pet owners. I think that's why most Northerners rarely have more than one animal, because we know they will be indoor pets most of the year. (I opened the door last week for our dog to go outside. She bounded out three steps, felt the air temp -- around -15 -- and bounded back up the steps just as quickly. I had to shut the door in her face to get her to go out and do her business.)

HAPPY BDAY! as far as the closer to 40 thing. . .better you than me. : ) I'm already fibbing about my age, so I don't know what I'll do when I get to a "really old" age. . .you know, like 60 or 40 or something. . . : )
we LOVE Castle at our house, too.
Yes, AR now stands for Antartica. . .
It's been so very, very long since I've read a book. . .I've been surviving on magazines, but it's sssoooooo not the same.

Happy Birthday!
I LOVE Castle too. I've DVRed it since the beginning and have watched every episode at least twice. So much fun. Matt and I also have the series that Nathan Fallon was in in 2002 and watched it at least 3 times through.
So I should bring non-sugary treats for book club then??
Later

Dad who totally counts as one of the boys, 4 boys btwn 11 and 3, and one MALE doggy I think he's 3. (I barely remember the ages of the ones I bore, much less one I accumulated)
Moving on :) here's to your bday and red boots!

Awww, happy birthday to you. And we love Castle, too... the dialogue is genius. Genius, I say! :) Hoping you soon thaw out. I love reading your blog.

Okay, so I can't recall anything I read after....giving up sweets!!! Who will taste test for me? :-( Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday! Hail to the Queen! And Castle really is quite entertaining. If you like Nathan, he was really good as Captain Malcom on Firefly & Serenity. I think Firefly was the series & Serenity the movie.

A day late, but happy birthday! Praying for God's blessings on you this year (and for the Palace in general). If you're going to give up sweets, at least promise you didn't do it on your birthday.
I know, Castle's great. I hope that ABC keeps it good and exciting for the rest of the series. (And your book choice -- I think I'll be looking it up on Amazon soon...)
