I am afraid that this may be Part 1 of a series.
So I'm getting ready yesterday morning and hear a horrific crash.
Horrific, I tell you.
I ran down the stairs and found this.
It struck me as a little unusual, but Chester is a little odd.
I just thought maybe he had discovered the sink.
Then I saw this.
Totally odd. Oliver is usually spread across the couch on his back.
I got the distinct impression that he was purposely avoiding me.
I began doing a room by room search.
See if you can tell what is wrong with this picture.
Yep. Something is missing.
And I found it.
Not only is my plate broken, but a chunk of my tile is gone.
I've heard that the criminal always returns to the scene of the crime.
MmmHmm.
Want to see how he did it?
Yep. CATapulted from the chair.
You might remember that he began casing the joint about 4 months ago. I'm not sure what about yesterday morning made the jump seem like a good idea.
Maybe he is getting his groove back after the haircut.
I think that he has no comment.
And may be playing dead.
Bad, Bad Kitty.
They are so cute. I would love to rub my face in their fur.
But no kittys for us. HB2 is very allergic!
I guess the upside is no broken plates!?

oooooooohhh! Bad, Bad Kitty. Do you think he has figured out you are going on vacation, reaction to chloe's death, or the arrival of Chester, the discount kitty to his castle. His therapy sessions will be long and expensive. That plate is only the beginning if he is turning in to THE DESTRUCTOR. WATCH OUT

LOL! I awoke this morning at 5:30 to the sound of my earring dish crashing to the floor. I knew it wasn't broken, but if I ever wanted to wear a complete set of earrings again, I'd better leap out of bed before all 3 of them had a high time of scattering them everywhere!
Unlike your kitties, mine all come-a-runnin'!

I suspect you are giving them too much credit in the "guilt" area. If they are anything like Oscar, they don't care if they've broken something. After all, it's their house and if they want to chip, slash, bash, or eat something, why not?

It is funny that they were both distancing themselves from the scene of the crime. I have dogs, no cats here, but they do the same thing.

I'm sorry they broke your plate & chipped your tile, but aren't cats funny? They way they were both completely ignoring the situation, but you could tell how guilty they were from their posture. We've got 5 indoor cats (5!) and whenever there's a crash or boom in the middle of the night, it's strange that I don't see any cats anywhere...

I love how he Chester thought you wouldn't see him in the SINK!

Cats crack me up. My cat would jump over the bed and try and hit the window...she missed everytime and landed on ME. Don't get it...

I linked over to "the haircut" and thought I'd wet my pants!!!
We have an outside kitty who quit grooming herself and then couldn't make it over the fence. So my neighbor (who was a vet tech) and I had to shave her back...the cat's, not my neighbor's. And she BIT me...hard!! Again, the cat, not the neighbor.
Anyway, cats...can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em :)

Aww, how cute! I love the captions that you put with the photos. Great.

That cat is a serious source of good blog fodder and entertainment. Though probably not so funny for you.

Sorry you lost your plate. But that was entirely too cute. The kitty pictures made it.

I love the playing dead pictures...too cute!

That is one cute cat though.....good thing.
My cats are more work than my two kids. But I love them, so what are you gonna do?

Oh my gosh I can't stop giggling over the haircut pictures! And hiding in the sink. At least you can keep your sense of humor about it.

Is this a prelude to what condition the house might be in when you get back? Anyone else seeing a red flag?

LOVE THAT CAT!
He is just absolutely the funniest thing ever. I have missed seeing pictures of him.
I am really sorry about your plate, though. Is it replaceable?

Where do you find a cat like that? Lulu is going to be a permenant resident at the mental institution and I am considering a cat? Like Chester- he is so darn cute!

Cat Wars III: Revenge of the Shorn

When I was still single and living alone in a basement apartment, I was asleep in bed and awoke to the most horrific "YOWWWWRRRRR!!!!" The ceiling came crashing down at the same time (or so I thought). Turns out that my cat was fighting another cat through the window above me and knocked some potted plants and a shelf full of books right on top of my head. I nearly had a heart attack.
She's too old and fat to provide any good blog material these days. (But I love her anyway!)
