Congrats, Soliloquy. I'll be emailing you shortly...
Our Book Club met last night and, of course, had a great time.
What could go wrong when the night includes a good book and peanut butter bars?
Our next book is Providence by Chris Coppernoll. It is an incredible book. I loved it. LOVED IT. I was so sad to see it end that I emailed the author and told him to get to work. Really. I did.
I am sure he got right on it.
I can't wait for you to read it!! I will be giving away a copy to one of you on Saturday, July 5. Just leave a comment and your email, and I will randomly pick a winner.
You all rock.
Well would you look at that....

Congratulations, Nicole! I will email you shortly.
Thanks to all who commented!!! I will have another book club giveaway next month!!!
The ole book club met last night.
None of us felt the urge to do backflips over the book that we just finished, Stuck in the Middle. It was good. I'm glad that I read it, but probably wouldn't read it again.
It did make for some great conversation about sibling relationships. Which then led to great conversation about parent/child relationships. That moved right into in-law relationships...which is another topic for another day. Because there are apparently some wacky in-laws who may not have been taught that if you can't say something nice you shouldn't say anything at all.
Especially not, "My son is getting too thin. Are you feeding him?"
I cannot see how that comment could lead to a harmonious relationship.
But I digress.
I am giving away a copy of the next book that we will be reading, Same Kind Of Different As Me. This is a really great book. I laughed and cried. I was inspired and ashamed. I was amazed at God's grace and saddened by the harsh reality of the world in which we live.
Leave a comment on this post and I will pick a winner ON FRIDAY EVENING. I know that is not much time, but it is what you've got.
Because my vacation waits for no one.
The winner of the Great Book Club Giveaway is
Congrats, Jeni!!
Email your address to me and I will get the book to you!
I want to thank 5 Minutes for Mom for mentioning the giveaway on their site. Their site is such a great place to find giveaways, mom blogs and all kinds of fun stuff!! The "Moms", Susan and Janice do a great job of compiling lots of great information to make our lives easier. They also run two online toy stores: A Rocking Horse to Love and Pedal Cars and Retro Collectibles. Busy moms!!
I will give away a copy of our next book club selection the first week of May.
Does that title sound like I'm giving away my book club?
We met last night to discuss Nobody by Creston Mapes.
Everyone liked this book.
Everyone except for sweet Mrs. Joy.
Sunday at church, she informed me that she doesn't care for the intrigue, mystery or suspense.
She's 88.
She stood us up last night.
We really do have a fun group of girls. Last night we especially enjoyed lots of laughter and food.
Oh. And books.
Until Oliver jumped into the snacks.
Into them.
He feels quite bad about it.
And really...it was chicken salad. The temptation was just too great.
Just the other day, in fact.
Oh, how I digress.
I handed out our April selection, Stuck in the Middle by Virginia Smith.
I haven't finished it yet, but I am loving it so far!! It is a great story centered around a middle sister. I don't have sisters. But I think this seems like what it might possibly be like if I did, in fact, have sisters.
I think.
I'd love to give a copy of this book to one of you!!
Just leave a comment on this post and I will pick a winner on Monday night.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, April 8.
And I'm not giving away my book club.
The winner of the $15 Amazon gift card is
Julie (3cookieday)
Congratulations!! I will be emailing you.

I've lurked at Calapidder Days Reading Things for a few seasons.
I figured I might as well jump in and admit how many books I buy start read.
The key for me will be finishing the books. I am halfway through lots of books.
I'm thinking Spring Break is a good time to begin the finishing of the books. And since Spring Break is next week, I better get started.
Below is the list that I hope to finish by June 24. I will give a quick review on the book when it is completed. (I'll move this list to the left sidebar.)
Don't forget that I will giveaway my book club's selection the first week of each month.
If I read a book that is totally & completely fabulous...I'll probably give away a copy of it, too.
And just because it is pretty outside and the sun is shining and it is Easter and I want you all to read along with me...I am giving away a $15 Amazon gift card.
Like, now.
Leave one comment with this post and I will randomly pick a winner on Wednesday, March 26. The comments will close at midnight on Tuesday. Be sure to leave a way for me to get in touch with you if you are the winner.
To participate in the reading extravaganza, go to Calapidder Days Spring Reading Thing 2008!!
Happy Reading!!
(Feel free to venture a guess as to how many of these I'll actually finish...)
The Last Days by Joel C Rosenberg
The Ezekiel Option by Joel C Rosenberg
The Copper Scroll by Joel C Rosenberg
Stuck in the Middle by Virginia Smith
When I Lay My Isaac Down by Carol Kent
The Perfect Life by Robin Lee Hatcher
For Better or For Worse by Diann Hunt
Whispers of the Bayou by Mindy Starns Clark
The winner of my book club's March selection is...
Congratulations, Christie!
Thanks to all who entered the giveaway.
I'll be giving away the next selection during the first week of April!!
I think I've mentioned my book club from time to time.
Like, every month when I beg for help with selecting the book.
Well. I was thinking that maybe I'd start giving away a copy of each month's selection.
If you'd like.
This book club started as a ministry for our church. It really kind of started with me wanting to have a book club. And thinking that some ladies in our church might like to come.
That = Ministry
It has been a lot of fun. Several of my friends that don't attend my church now come. I really look forward to our gatherings.
Because there is good food. And great conversation. And lots of laughing.
And maybe a little ministering.
This month's book is Nobody by Creston Mapes. This is probably not the best book for me to giveaway. It is the only book that I haven't read before I picked it. So I really can't tell you a thing about it. But I've heard it is good. So we'll see.
If you'd like a chance at winning this book, just leave a comment. I'll randomly choose a lucky winner on Sunday and post it sometime that evening. Be sure to leave me a way to get in touch with you in case you win.
(And I'm still open to book suggestions!!)
