"If thou couldst empty all thyself of self,
like to a shell dishabited,
then might He find thee on the ocean shelf, and say,
"This is not dead," and fill thee with Himself instead.
But thou art all replete with very thou
and hast such shrewd activity,
that when He comes, He says, "This is enow unto itself -
'twere better let it be, it is so small and full,
there is no room for Me." (Thomas Browne)

I am all replete with very me! and phone calls...and laundry...and paperwork...and not enough quiet. Thanks for the reminder!

Love this!
Glad your blog isn't quiet any longer. :)

Its never quiet around here-4 children take care of that but I definitely need to work on being "still" inwardly when I come to the Lord.
Very thought provoking and definitely something in my life that needs work/improvement.

I agree with Tracy - so glad you aren't quiet any more! Here, at least. It seems like a minute is as a thousand years whenever I tuly attempt a quiet moment. I pray you find a few this week!

It's hard to be quiet with ADD!
I need to give it a whirl though because I feel unsettled this week.
Still trying.....
