Well.
Now that I think about it, that title has nothing to do with this post.
It made sense to me for a minute...
I think I was going with how other people can make the plain stuff seem fancier?
Or something like that.
Basically I was hoping y'all would tell me some of your favorite stuff.
So I thought that over the next week-ish, I might ask for your favorites in assorted categories.
And at the end of this silly little game, I will give a prize to a randomly drawn commenter.
Let's start with cookbooks.
Tell me your all-time favorite cookbook.
I have several. It's hard for me to choose. Definitely this one. This one. And this.
Thanks for playing.

This is my brand new favorite

And I love me some Paula Deen. This is one of my favorites for her because she puts whole meals together for special occasions from starters to desserts. They are traditional with a twist.

Taste of Home magazine is my favorite right now!

I have two basic "go to" cookbooks. One is a local church cookbook which I got as a wedding shower gift. I LOVE IT!! The other one is Once A Month Cooking. While I'm not a total OAMC nut I do like to know what will freeze well and regularly double/triple recipes to stock my freezer. Well, to be honest I USED to do this. Now that we've moved I don't have a deep freeze so it's lots harder. :(

My favorite cookbook is my trusty old stained-and-tattered Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. I bought it for myself right before we got married, and it's my go-to book whenever I need a basic recipe.

It's a localish cookbook, "Calling All Cooks." I could not live without it, especially with one of the meatloaf recipes!

The one I have that I use most often is my Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. Got the newest edition for Christmas a few years back and I and checking it for recipes a lot.

Good to see you posting! My favorite cookbooks are the More with Less Cookbook, Joy of Cooking(working on my second version and now it's falling apart, too!) and The Bread Book, a baker's almanac. I learned a lot from all 3 books!

I've had good luck with the Pioneer Woman's cookbook "Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl" - I've made more than just a few of the recipes in there and they all have turned out great!

I love looking through cookbooks. Especially church cookbooks. My favorite is one from the church I grew up in. And I love the Pioneer Woman's cookbook. Lately, I've been getting my recipes online at allrecipes.com or picky palate.

I LOVE cookbooks! My favorites are church cookbooks and The Pioneer Woman Cooks. I also like the Hungry Girl cookbooks for some yummy healthy options.

I adore Jan Karon's Mitford Cookbook and Kitchen Reader, and not just because I love Jan Karon's books; that's just a plus - some wonderful chefs developed these recipes based on excerpts from the books and EVERY SINGLE RECIPE I've tried is deLICIOUS - I regularly use the recipes for deviled eggs, chicken salad, scalloped potatoes... awesome southern comfort food - it's definitely the most-stained up cookbook I own!

This is my favorite, probably because I know the author personally, and she is so genuine. Her recipes are wonderful (she has co-authored at least one cookbook with Paula Deen). :D

I don't know if Jill Connor Browne ever did JUST a cookbook, but all of the Sweet Potato Queen books have recipes, and I have NEVER made anything from them that wasn't to die for. The prose it tacky, and I am sometimes embarrassed to admit I own these books. Still, I can't part with them because the recipes are SO good.

I love my Whole Foods For The Whole Family, put out by La Leche League. It's one of the ones I've used the most... although I have a ton of others!

Better Homes and gardens, Joy of cooking, and Stephanie O'Dea's crockpot cookbooks. They are virtually the only 4 I use.

My 3 favorites are my Betty Crocker cookbook, a cookbook put together by the ladies at church (they make the BEST FOOD), and one that the ladies guild in town made. So many of the good, comfort food recipes my family loves!

I have 2! Although saying that I dont cook very often as that is best left to the husband who is actually a trained chef. The first one is called Beginners Grub which certainly helped me when husband started working offshore and he wasnt there to cook all the time http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Beginners-Grub-Williams-Alastair/9781840249354 The second is called cook yourself thin which is amazing and shows me how to have all my favourite food but just that little bit healthier! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cook-Yourself-Thin-Delicious-dress/dp/0718153510

I have loved everything I've tried from The Pioneer Womans cookbook. Most of the time, though, I get my recipes from blogs. Still, I <3 actual cookbooks, so the one from Our Best Bites and No Whine With Dinner are on my list (as well as a few others - I actually posted my wish list on my blog!)

Honestly? The place where I get tasty, easy recipes is Everyday Food magazine. I tear out new recipes each month, and when I look back over the last few years, almost all our new favorites are from that little magazine.
Subscriptions can be had for cheap around Christmas.

I love the Quick Cooking Annual Recipe collection books. I just bought the 2010 edition, I now have 10 years worth!

For fun and if I'm brave: Pioneer Woman's Cookbook.
My trusty resource for the basics: the red & white Better Homes & Gardens.
For comfort food: my family recipe book :)

My all time favorite is Fannie Farmer. I've worn out several of the paperback editions so finally bought a hardback a few years ago. 2nd favorite is Southern Living Ultimate Quick and Easy! Because anything that is quick and easy is my favorite.
