Well that was fun for me.
I hope that you also found some ideas for new cookbooks to try.
I'm thinking our next category will be...
Facial Cleansers/Serums/Potions.
I am needing something to fix my wrinkles and my pimples.
Both of which really tick me off.
I have no good suggestion for this. I think I've tried it all.
And I still have wrinkles and pimples.
And dull skin.
With big pores.
I'm desperate.
Bring it on.

Yeah...well...I look forward to reading the comments, too - I may be 47, but I STILL break out AND I'm getting lots of wrinkles!

Oil cleasing Method. Sounds dubious, works like a charm. The biggest improvement I saw was in my pore size and my skin wasn't so dull anymore.
Google it, I promise promise promise promise it is worth a try.

I have pretty normal skin but I love Cetaphil cleanser. It's really gentle and I don't break out much.

I'm 47. For about the last 10 yrs I've been using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser and the Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment.
It has really helped me control the breakouts and it doesn't dry out my skin.
I have also used the other products in their "Healthy Skin" line.
Here's a link:

and the lotion:

It's good stuff and reasonably priced.

I will second the oil cleansing method. I noticed a huge improvement in the size of my pores and my face feels very soft. I have always struggled with oily skin, but once my skin adjusted to this it is sooooo much better. And I don't get dry, itchy skin in the winter like I used to.
Seriously, try it!

I need this info too. I've been breaking out and I never really had more than the monthly period pimple until about 5 years ago. What I have now isn't working. I may try Joan's products, well the Neutrogena stuff. It's also in my price range.

I just started using Fruit of the Earth Pure Aloe Vera Gel. I had been having it and was using it for something else (shaving legs) when I looked on the back and seen that it said to try it on blemishes. Since I've gotten older I started to break out (never did when I was younger) so I put some on my face where I was broke out before bed that nite and when I woke up the difference was signifincant. Been putting it on ever since. I do morning, throught out the day, and before bed. Usually take forever for them to heal but this stuff is amazing. There is no alcohol and its a moisterizer so you can use it all the time.
oH and I'm new here and don't remember how I found you, but HI!!!

Ahhh you're back! I use a facial scrub every other day to exfoliate and I wash my face every night with Purpose soap from Johnson and Johnson. After washing I use Oil of Olay Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Night Cream. It works great and it smells good too. Good luck and remember to share all of the great secrets you learn. :)
