Sixteen years ago today I married my best friend.
This year has brought us more challenges than any other.
It has also brought us closer than I dreamed possible.
I came so close to losing him on March 21. Mercifully, God allowed us more time together on this earth.
I am grateful for each day that I've been given as his wife.
He's shown such a gentle strength in weakness.
He's learned how to trust.
He's learned how to wait.
He no longer seeks to get his own way, but seeks to do the will of his Father.
I am so very proud of him.

16 years ago you blessed me with your commitment to love me through it all. We have been through so much (good and bad) and you remind me each day of how blessed we are by the way you live life. Happy Belated Anniversary! I know you have a whole new level of appreciation for anniversaries after what you went through this year. May God continue to bless you with many more years together!
We went to another wedding Friday -- our daughter's! It was so fun :)
It also happened to be her big brother's 29th birthday. He groused that now he has to share his birthday with her anniversary but he was just kidding; he loves it that they chose his birthday for their big day :)

Our anniversary is December 16. Didn't it seem like a good idea to get married at this time of year? We saved a lot on decorations. Now, I think I would have done it at a different time. Seems like all our money is spent on Christmas.
