Hey.
Thanks for the prayers and advice last week. I am following what many of you suggested...I'm just waiting.
Kind of taking the "no news is good news" approach.
We'll see how that works out.

Look at what my freaky cats are doing as I type.
Completely disturbing.
I'm imagining the worst.
What could be in the fireplace?
A rat? A bat? A snake?
They've been staring at the same spot for 20 minutes.
Weirdos.

Two of my friends just returned from Casa.
Wanna see some new pictures of La P?
It thrills me to see her sweet face!
My friend told La P "The Princess (her real name) is mi amiga" thinking that it would be a bonding moment.
Instead, La P got a teensy bit possessive and said, "NO! The Princess (her real name) is MI amiga!"
The Princess is thrilled.
33 days until we see her again!!!

The paint should finally happen this week.
Which is what I've said for the last 2 weeks.

My next housing dilemma is the mantle.
I want a really cool mantle.
But not a really expensive mantle.
My fireplace is antique red brick.
Any thoughts?

Sharp glossy white mantle. That's all I've got.

The cats are waiting for santa. They've heard he brings fish. And really cool mantles.

A white mantle would be good. It will stand out but not take over the fireplace.

Hmm, I like rustic myself. With a bit of girly flair. So I would pull for something big, in a raw wood. Like cedar or pine BIG, but nice with that red brick. Play up the girly with a few nice pieces or a beautiful piece of art. Yep, rustic but chic would be my look of choice.

I vote big and rustic, too. Or black. Or compromise - rustic with black stuff to decorate (frame of mirror, candle holders, whatever).
Love that your girls are bonding even though separated by miles and miles and miles.

Love the picture of La P painting her nails! Love that she loves you all so much! Can't wait to see new pics. As far as the mantle goes, it depends on the decor in the living room. I think rustic but then I think white and then who knows! Decisions, decisions, decisions

I think I would let the cats in the fireplace to see just what they are looking at. :) Love the pink fingernail polish!

How about a copper mantel? You can buy sheets of copper and make it yourself fairly easily.

I'm not one to offer advice about paint and such. Because I have no decorating flair whatsoever. But I DO love the pictures of your princessa. Hope you are well, friend.
